Based on the play-by-play story by Edwin Black on the Beren Academy confrontation (see
The Texas Sabbath Showdown: The Inside (and Still Blazing) Story, Page One, March 27,) it appears that the school's Jewish basketball team only won "on the court" because their lawyers "went to court" and did it despite the objections of the school leadership. I was frankly put off by the comment of the school head person, Rabbi Sinoff who was unwilling to demand equal rights on so small an issue as moving up the game by five hours. Looks like the team that the players beat was their school leadership.
