Obama and Israel

Obamacare being the massive failure it is, and with the President’s approval ratings at an all-time low, it is only natural that the heat will be turned up under the Israelis in their negotiations with the Palestinian Authority (PA). After all, President Obama needs to leave some kind of presidential legacy, and Israel is easy prey. Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu may not give in on every point, but he has, at various times in response to U.S. pressure, voiced acceptance of the two-state solution, frozen settlement building, and released numerous Arab prisoners with Israeli blood on their hands; the latter in spite of a huge outcry against the unpopular move, by Bibi’s Israeli electorate.
In return, President Obama has, from time to time, leaked Israeli military secrets, and signed the Joint Plan of Action interim Geneva agreement to relieve the sanctions on Iran, in spite of Khameini’s stated intention to annihilate the State of Israel. These apparent betrayals of the Jewish State are what they are. Yet every time the President sends forth his Secretary of State John Kerry, the message from the President to Israel is, “Jump!†with Bibi’s response, “How high?â€
Now, the President will turn the screws on Israel that much tighter so he can leave office not as a health care failure but as a "peace builder."
The peace negotiations have been held in secret, though occasional leaks have been known to occur. Today, journalist Baruch Yedid, who claims to have an ongoing dialogue with PA officials, told Israel National News that the talks have advanced and have as their goal, an agreement on the framework for an accord to be hammered out by sometime in January, well in advance of the 9-month deadline set for these understandings.
Yedid recounts the details of the agreement as heard from his sources. The agreement calls for long term withdrawals by Israel from Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley. The withdrawals are to take place in stages over the course of 5-10 years’ time.
As for Jerusalem, Yedid describes proposals that follow the Vatican model wherein the Temple Mount and the Old City will be designated an autonomous region managed through a joint international body which would include both Israeli and PA representatives.
Yedid’s PA sources further attest that last week’s rumor in which it was said that Kerry’s aides have reserved 50 Jerusalem hotel rooms for January, is true. The intention is to mount a diplomatic assault on Prime Minister Netanyahu so as to compel him to accede to the American plan. The plan allows for the presence of Israeli security forces to remain in the Jordan Valley for ten years’ time.
Yedid suggests that according to his sources, the Americans have also rented 2-3 stories in an upscale Jerusalem hotel for the purpose of housing computers and other equipment necessary for hammering out the details of the talks. The timing of this January blitzkrieg is for things to begin happening with the end of the Christmas holiday and to be completed by the end of the month.
